The David and Goliath of the computer world

From Windows Me to Windows 7, Windows Corporation remains  reigning superpower in the computer world.
-------TO------->
Almost after a decade after it released its first version, the Microsoft Corporation dominates the world's personal computer market. The Microsoft Corporation named this operating system WINDOWS because it means an opened window for your business or even just for your personal use.

On the other hand, Linux, an open source operating system from the UNIX corporation comes to the knowledge of the people. Linux means "kernel".

Thinking why a penguin is the logo of Linux? "Now, when you think about penguins, first take a deep calming breath, and then think “cuddly”. Take another breath, and think “cute”. Go back to “cuddly” for a while (and go on breathing), then think “contented. "
     -Linus Torvalds,creator, Linux kernel.

 Now, Let us compare the two operating systems:

-->On Protection from viruses and malwares :

Linux wins this one for it is an open source operating system, meaning a community of computer specialists and experts are working hand in hand to know and defend their system from such irregularities. Plus, Windows is more popular, no wonder that almost all virus-makers are after it.

-->On being practical :

Another point for Linux, as we know, it is a free software. Compared to Windows, which you are required to purchase your own to access their product, (except of course to those pirates out there), obviously Linux gets the check. Another thing, a single Linux software could be used by a multiple number of computers.

-->On programs and other services :

Windows has Microsoft Word, Microsoft Powerpoint, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Publisher and many others. Linux has OpenOffice Presentation, OpenOffice Spreadsheet and OpenOffice Word Processor. Linux has the basics and Microsoft has the complexes, with its more detailed programs. Windows has Adobe and Linux got Gimp. Windows has the media player while Linux has the VLC player. Windows has the notepad and Linux has the text editor. So, with this part, I think it's a tie.

-->On the graphics :

We are all familiar with the appearance of a Windows-powered computer, that is a big advantage. The icons and graphics used in the Linux system is quite unrecognizable for some.  So, one point for Windows.

SO NOW,YOU DECIDE:
will WINDOWS continue to DOMINATE computer world?

OR
will LINUX drink Windows up to its last drop?

The TEN THINGS I want to do before I die

THE TEN THINGS I WANT TO DO BEFORE I DIE

10.Travel around the Philippines
The Philippines is a wonderful country—not only for its beautiful spots, but also for its people. Ever since I was a child, I dream of exploring the splendor of my native land and be proud for I am a Filipino.

9.Paris, The city of lights and romance.
Almost every girl I know also wants to go to Paris, France—even once. I will see the Eifel tower, the Lourve museum and the arc de triomphe.

8.Skydiving
Well, the thing behind this is I want to face my fear. I have a great fear of heights, so I want to conquer it by jumping off a plane. :)

7.Star in a musical
Well, it seems impossible for me to star in a musical for I have not a talent in singing, dancing or even acting. Or maybe I have. I’m just so shy of showing those talents to people. Plus, I am such a pessimist. I always think that I cannot do it, that people will only laugh at me. So there, I want to build up my confidence, that’s why I want to be in a theater production.

6.Publish a best seller
This is quite ambitious. I just don’t want to write or finish a novel, I want to publish it and be a best seller. More so, it would be better if it would be adapted into a major motion picture. :P

5.Travel around the world
I will use the money I’ve earned with my best seller in touring the world. J I will go to Korea, Japan, China, Australia, Singapore, Hongkong, Macau, Italy, Spain, Great Britain, New York… you know, literally the world. :P

4.Donate blood
I’ll admit it. I’m afraid of injections. I also want to overcome this fear. In addition to that, it would also help other people who are in need of blood donations. It’s like hitting two birds with one stone: conquering my fear and helping others.

3.Put up my dream home
A two-storey house, with three bedrooms, an attic, a balcony, a huge garden, a tree house and swings—this would be perfect for me and for my future family.

2.Be married and live a happily ever after
Of course, who would like to live alone? I know that someday, when the right time comes, I will meet my pair and be with him for the rest of my life. <3

1.Make a difference.
Not only as a development communicator but as a citizen of this country, surely I eould like to contribute something that will make this country improve. I want to do something that would make this state grow, even little by little.
